Prevention is better than a cure, and the leading cause of premature ageing comes directly from the sun!

Our skin needs broad protection against UVA and UVB rays, as they both damage the skin in different ways.

UVA rays cause tanning and the shorter wavelengths of UVA also cause sunburn. UVB rays can damage your skin year-round and its intensity fluctuates, especially at high altitudes or on reflective surfaces like snow or ice. These rays are damaging to our entire body, but have particular effects on our face.

Sun damage or ‘photo aging’ is responsible for 90 percent of visible changes to the skin as a result of the cumulative sun damage we’ve been exposed to throughout our lives.

UVA/UVB is able to penetrate into the dermis of our skin, where it damages collagen, elastin and other fibers that supports the skins structure. A result of these damaged cells are fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, along with textural changes and redness or blotchiness. UV damage is cumulative and doesn't just have superficial effects on our skin, it also increases your skin cancer risk over time.

Not all hope is lost if you have the signs of photo aging, using SPF daily as well as skincare with ingredients designed to reverse sun damage will see impressive results!

Our Favourite: Dalton Sun Care UV-Protection Cream UVA/UVB SPF 50+

Our Sun Care Cream provides broad spectrum sun protection against UVA and UVB. The light, non-greasy formulation is ideal for use on the face, but can be used on the entire body. Unlike many sunscreens, it does not leave a white residue making it perfect to wear on its own or underneath makeup.

Dalton Sun Care not only protects against sun damage, it is also infused with spirulina algae. A natural super food, it infuses the skin with antioxidants like Vitamin E and B12 to promote cell renewal for optimum protection against sun-induced premature ageing.
